Who Will Win?!

There is a lot to cover, so we are going to go through this point by point.

  • L.A. Comic Con

If you are in the Los Angeles area, you have one more day to attend Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con. Brandon Easton, the writer of the new M.A.S.K. series, will be there as well!

I will be heading down to L.A. Comic Con tomorrow, hope to see you there!

Pen and Ink!

It looks like last night Tommy Lee Edwards posted some more shots of the upcoming M.A.S.K. comic on his Twitter.

Without a doubt this art pays great respects to the source material, something that people are always worried about during reboots. Hopefully Mr. Edwards will keep teasing us with more previews!

What’s Going On Here?!

IDW CoverIt’s been a good long while since anything new has gone up, so let’s fix that. First of all, back when IDW announced their new M.A.S.K. comic book line I had a great chat with Jason and Wyatt from Agents of M.A.S.K. You probably heard it through MASKast, but if not it’s also been added to the Audio section here. We talk a lot about what we would like to see and what we think we will see. It’s a lot more fun to just listen in!

Now, on the heels of that announcement, IDW has announced a new, multi-property title, Revolution. According to IDW:

The “Revolution” event marks the birth of a comic book crossover that will be comprised of not only the TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE properties, but also all-new properties MICRONAUTS, ROM, and ACTION MAN, as well as the launch of a long-awaited M.A.S.K.: Mobile Armored Strike Kommand series.

As any fan of M.A.S.K. knows, there have always been rumors and ideas kicking around about M.A.S.K. getting some kind of relaunch or reimagining. But this is the first time we have seen an established company moving forward. The image above, which is definitely action overload, has clear images of Switchblade, Thunder Hawk and Rhino. Obviously Revolution is the setup to tie all these entities into the same universe, so there is no telling exactly how much M.A.S.K. will be in the stories.

And then there was more! CBR got an exclusive look at some of the variant covers for Revolution and they look great!

There are actually more, but these are the ones that have M.A.S.K. on them – in some way. It might be too much hope M.A.S.K. will be the star of the show, especially with heavy hitters like Transformers and G.I. Joe, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get some great moments. And with the standalone series hitting shelves in November, M.A.S.K. fans can finally rejoice to see their favorite 80s show make a return!

Just a quick word:

If you have not made it over to the Boulder-Hill.net Instagram page you really should. It is frequently updated with new pictures of M.A.S.K. toys, merchandise and other goodies.

The Boulder-Hill.net Instagram has almost reached 100 followers! Thanks to everyone for that.

Here is a look at some recent pictures!

Old art, meet new art!

Now that M.A.S.K. Day is over and the craziness has died down things can go back to their regular, calm pace. Today’s post is to put up a new piece of art by the the master draftsman, Darren Gregson. A fan favorite for sure, his newest work is of the M.A.S.K. big rig – Rhino.

RhinoThis new work of Darren’s will be joining his others on the Artwork page, where you can also see it in full size!

MASK_Pencils_001The other addition today comes to us from back in the 1980s, when M.A.S.K. was first in production. This is an original pencil drawing from the production of the second season of M.A.S.K., commonly known as the Racing Series. The image shows Matt Trakker in his Goliath uniform and Boris ‘The Czar’ Bushkin in his only outfit, for Bulldog (or Bulldoze for those in Europe). This pencil drawing is from the original animation process, this is not a reproduction! The full size image has been added to the Merchandise of Boulder-Hill.net.

That is going to do it for today. As always there is more to add than can be done in a single post. So come back soon and see what’s new!

One more for the road

There is a lot happening behind the scenes to get ready for M.A.S.K.’s 29th birthday, however, that does not mean we can’t show off some things before then.

Our good and talented friend Darren, of Back To The Old Drawing Board, has done it again. This time with one of the staples of the M.A.S.K. team – Firecracker. As always, Darren’s keen eye and hand have rendered this vehicle in a great action pose, and with incredible detail as well. Continue reading

“Antimatter sure comes in handy”

Some great stuff for you today, so let’s not waste anymore time. Last week Darren Gregson sent two amazing pieces of original M.A.S.K. artwork. This week Darren sent another two pieces!

Condor Vampire& Stinger

The first piece is of my personal favorite, Brad Turner, riding his motorcycle Condor, which converts into a helicopter. The second piece features Floyd Malloy aboard Vampire – another flying motorcycle! In the background you can see Stinger (which was featured previously in it’s own piece). Just like his first two illustrations, Darren’s work is spectacular. All of his work shows a skilled hand and great attention to detail. boulder-hill.net wants to thank Darren again for sharing with us.

Back to the old drawing board

Those of you who follow other M.A.S.K. sites and news have probably already seen Darren Gregson’s work by now. Darren is an incredibly talented artist, who has recently turned his skills to M.A.S.K. vehicles. Today, boulder-hill.net has the privilege of adding two original drawings Darren sent us.
Both of these fantastic images are of VENOM vehicles. The first being Cliff Dagger’s Jackhammer and the second being Bruno ‘Mad Dog’ Sheppard’s Stinger. Both of these renderings were done by hand with pen and then later edited in Photoshop.

You can see both images in their high resolution versions on the Artwork page. Hopefully, M.A.S.K. continues to hold Darren’s interest and he produces more of these mind blowing illustrations.

While this is a shorter update than usual, it comes with the promise of exciting news. Check back on August 16th to find out what!
