Happy anniversary to our favorite cartoon! M.A.S.K. – Mobile Armored Strike Kommand – is celebrating the 29th anniversary of the original release of the show. If you follow the site you know that there has been a TON of work going on to get ready for this day. This article will take you through all the different things that have been happening, both here and on other M.A.S.K. sites. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
The most obvious change, to anyone who has been here before, is the new look to the site. Boulder-Hill.net was originally designed and launched in late 2009, and the basic look had not changed much – until now. The new design aims to be modern, organized and readable. Our new color scheme was selected to make things easier on the eyes while reading and viewing. The site content now utilizes submenus to help sort everything, so visitors can find what they want quickly and easily. All the pages also now use our new gallery plugin to keep the pages less cluttered and easier to browse.
Thanks to the help of Paul, of PaulPants.com, Boulder-Hill.net is sporting a brand new custom logo. Paul did an amazing job helping to give Boulder-Hill.net a great unique identity and it shows! The logo is currently living along our right hand side and will stay there for the foreseeable future.
The site is now mobile friendly. When you visit Boulder-Hill.net on your smart phone you will automatically direct to the new mobile site. The mobile site is still in its infancy, but it will continue to expand and develop. Right now the content is limited to front page articles. But if you really want to view the full content of the site on your mobile device you can always switch over using the link at the bottom. The rest of the mobile site will come on line in future updates, so consider this just a first step.
There are two small additions to the Figure pages. First, on the M.A.S.K. Agents page, the second version of Bruce Sato’s Lifter has been added. This is the child safe version with extra plastic around the neck and chest. The second addition is actually a correction. The VENOM Agents have had Miles Mayhem with Python on display for some time now. However, while Miles is wearing the Python mask, he is in his Ripper uniform. This error has been fixed and you can now see the proper images of Miles Mayhem as he comes in Outlaw.
Next on the list, there is a new shirt over on RedBubble. This shirt goes with our set of instruction art – featuring the classic M.A.S.K. vehicle, Rhino. It comes on a variety of colors and clothing options. But if you are interested, the best thing to do is to visit our store.
In the Artwork section you have three new images from Darren Gregson. These are new colored versions of some of his previous work. For those who are interested, the images are Condor, Firecracker, and Vampire. Darren keeps putting out great new M.A.S.K. art and as long as he is interested, Boulder-Hill.net will keep sharing and promoting it.
One of the biggest additions to the site is the new Public Service Announcements gallery. If you head to the newly created Video page you can watch eight PSAs from across various episodes of M.A.S.K. These informative (and hilarious) clips will most certainly transport you back to the days when Ronald Reagan was still in office! Be sure to check out the PSA from The Lipizzaner Mystery and watch T-Bob learn an important lesson about horses.
Continuing through our big celebration is the addition to the Merchandise part of the site. There are now photos of three original M.A.S.K. VHS tapes. One of them is from the United States while the other two are in PAL format, meaning they were released in the United Kingdom. The packaging and box art on all three is spectacular.
That about wraps up things around here, however, Boulder-Hill.net is not the only site celebrating M.A.S.K Day. today. Bill of Matt-Trakker.com posted a great article and video. Darren Gregson’s contest should be wrapping up today – check to see if you are the lucky winner of his amazing original Thunderhawk piece. Jason & Wyatt, of Agents of M.A.S.K. are also planning to put up some new content today, so make sure you check in with them. Scott, who runs the M.A.S.K. Comics Blog, has promised to also share some great things on his site. Our new friends, at Epic Toy Box are giving away a boxed Brad Turner and Condor! So be sure to get over to their page quickly for your chance. And last, but certainly not least, do not forget to show your support on M.A.S.K. EIRE’s Facebook page.
It is really exciting to see all the different parts of the M.A.S.K. community coming together. While M.A.S.K. might not have a fanbase like Transformers or G.I. Joe, the people who are a part of it are truly amazing, and what we lack in quantity we make up for in quality.
A special thanks to our technical support wizard. Without his time and energy this site would not be where it is today. And, as always, please feel free to leave a comment on the site. Your feedback and ideas are always welcome.
Happy M.A.S.K. DAY!
